Skoda Kamiq Rain Light Sensor Problem

I am writing to inquire about a potential issue with my Skoda Kamiq, build year 2023, diesel engine, mileage 183156 km. There is an error stored in the error memory related to the rain-light sensor. The primary symptoms include a lack of automatic wiping mode in the rain, no automatic headlight control, and a non-functional speedometer dimming. Also, the lights keep switching on. Could this be a simple sensor fault, or is there something more complex at play?

I had a similar issue with my Skoda Octavia. The rain-light sensor can be quite sensitive. Does the error memory specify anything beyond a general sensor fault? Does the rain detection work at all, or is it completely non-functional?

The error memory only indicates a rain-light sensor fault. I have observed that there is absolutely no automatic wiping mode in the rain. Are there any car components which might affect the auto sensor?

It sounds very similar to what I experienced. It's quite likely that bubbles are forming under the gel pad of the windshield where the sensor sits. This is a known issue. I'd suggest having a workshop check it out. Replacing the sensor and gel pad might be the only solution.

Many thanks for your input. I took it to a workshop, and it turns out there were indeed bubbles under the gel pad of the windshield affecting the rain detection. Replacement of the sensor and gel pad cost 62€. Everything seems to be working fine now.
