Skoda Kamiq transmission issue

My Skoda Kamiq, 2023, gasoline engine, almost 100000km. Transmission acts up: engine light is on, error stored. Gearbox in emergency mode, slips and shifts roughly, grinding noises while shifting. Suspect the transmission oil temperature sensor. Anyone experienced this?

Sounds familiar. I drive a Kamiq as well, and I had similar symptoms last year: engine light, rough shifting, and the transmission felt like it was slipping. I was worried about overheating problems too. Have you checked your transmission oil level? It might be worth a look before you panic.

Did you also get grinding noises, and have the gearbox go into emergency mode? Where was your error stored? And when you say similar, was it the temperature sensor?

Yeah, the grinding noise was intermittent, but definitely there, and the emergency mode kicked in a couple of times. The error was definitely related to the transmission sensor. In my case, low transmission oil caused the temperature sensor to go haywire. I'd advise to get it checked at a workshop.

Appreciate the insight. You were right about the transmission oil level. Topped it off and that didn't solve it. Took it to a workshop; faulty transmission oil temperature sensor. Replaced it, total cost 365€. Shifting smooth again.
