I did a visual inspection of the wiring, but didn't see anything obvious. How did you confirm it was the sensor and not something else, like the timing chain being stretched?

I didn't check the timing chain specifically, but the symptoms were pretty clear and pointed to the sensor. A stretched timing belt or chain usually comes with other noises and rough running. In my case, replacing the crankshaft sensor fixed it right away. If you're not sure, I would suggest taking it to a workshop to get a proper diagnosis.

Took it to the workshop, and it was a defective crankshaft sensor, like I thought. Replaced it, and the reference value is back within spec. Total cost was 340€, including the sensor and labor. Engine light is off, and power is restored. Appreciate the help.

Sounds like you're on the right track with the crankshaft sensor. I had a similar issue with my Karoq. Check engine light, power loss, the whole shebang. Did you check the wiring to the sensor? Sometimes it's just a bad connection.
