Skoda Karoq rough running and exhaust smell

I'm having a problem with my 2018 Skoda Karoq with a gasoline engine, mileage at 210974 km. The check engine light is on, and the engine is running rough. I can also smell exhaust fumes, which suggests a leak. I'm thinking it might be the lambda sensor. Has anyone had a similar experience with their Karoq, especially concerning the exhaust treatment system?

That sounds like what happened with my Karoq. Is the engine running rough, almost like it's misfiring? And do you notice the strong smell constantly or only at certain times, like after a cold start?

The engine definitely feels rough, especially at lower speeds. The smell is more noticeable when the engine is warm, and there's also a slight exhaust leak I've detected. Is this what you experienced? Did you have issues with the particulate filter, DEF fluid, catalytic converter, NOx sensors, or EGR valve because of it?

Yep, that sounds like the lambda sensor to me. The rough running and the smell are dead giveaways. It's like a bad tooth; it affects everything around it. I'd recommend getting it checked at a workshop to confirm. Ignoring it could damage the catalytic converter or particulate filter.

Took the Karoq to a workshop. The lambda sensor was defective, as suspected. The replacement plus labor cost 375€. Hopefully, this fixes the issue for good. Thanks for the help.
