Skoda Karoq Transmission Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Skoda Karoq with a diesel engine is experiencing transmission issues, including slipping, rough shifting, and grinding noises, accompanied by check engine and transmission indicator lights. The error memory suggests a defective automatic transmission torque converter. The problem could be linked to the torque converter not locking up properly, causing engine surges. It is advised to have the vehicle inspected and repaired at a workshop to prevent further damage.

Engine surge? I did notice that the RPMs seemed to fluctuate a bit at times, especially when the gearbox shifted. Was that also part of your converter fault?

Yes, the engine surge was definitely part of it. The torque converter wasn't locking up properly. Best get it checked out at a workshop; driving it like that could cause more damage to the automatic transmission.

Took it to the shop as you suggested. They confirmed the torque converter is toast. Quoted 2120€ for the repair. Thanks for the help.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Karoq's automatic transmission. Did you notice any engine surge along with the slipping?
