Skoda Kodiaq 2017: Engine indicator light, rough running and starting difficulties - suspected fuel pump defect

Hi guys, I urgently need your help. I drive a 2017 Skoda Kodiaq with a diesel engine and already have an impressive 167543km on the clock. Recently I've been experiencing a few problems. The check engine light is on, the engine switches off by itself, the cold start takes longer than it should, I notice a loss of power, the engine runs rough, it jerks when accelerating and sometimes the car just won't start. Somehow I have the feeling that it might have something to do with the fuel pump. Have any of you had similar experiences and can tell me how you got on with it at the garage? Would be super grateful for any tips!

Hey, I can help you super well because I experienced a very similar situation! I also had similar symptoms with my 2015 Skoda Octavia. It's actually possible that the fuel pump is the problem. In my case, the software values for the fuel pump were incorrect and led to the problems you describe. My car needed a software update so that the correct values for the fuel pump could be set. After that it was great to drive again! So, this can be a serious problem, but it is definitely fixable. My noise and small vibrations that you may feel could also be coming from the fuel pump. You should definitely have it checked at a garage. The guys there were able to help me well and it was a relatively quick fix, so don't worry! Good luck!

Hey, that's great that you had the same suspicion and found out! Can you remember how much you put down for it at the garage? And have you had anything else to do with it since then that might be related?

Hey, of course I remember! I spent €45 at the garage to correct the software values for the fuel pump. I have to say that since the visit to the mechanic, the car has been running like clockwork again and the fuel pump defect has been completely rectified. So, it was really worth it, it was a good price for solving the problem. So far, I haven't had any other problems that could be related to this. Everything is running perfectly. So take the car to the garage and you'll soon have peace of mind again!

Great, thanks for the info! 45 euros sounds really reasonable if it solves the problem. Your answer totally reassures me. Now it's time to make an appointment with the garage. I hope it goes just as well for me and I don't have any more problems. Thanks again for your help!
