Skoda Kodiaq ABS Fault

I am writing to report a perplexing issue with my 2023 Skoda Kodiaq diesel. The ABS lamp illuminates intermittently, accompanied by traction control malfunctions, and ultimately, a complete ABS failure. Diagnostic routines suggest a speed signal fault, likely originating from a defective control unit. I'm soliciting insights from individuals familiar with this vehicle, specifically concerning the reliability of the ABS system and prevalent sensor failure modes.

I had similar ABS and traction issues. Check the wheel speed sensor wiring, especially near the hubs. A damaged sensor can cause the ABS to freak out and affect the speedometer readings on the dashboard.

Did your speedometer also display incorrect readings? The primary symptom is the ABS lamp, but I also observe traction control irregularities and, suspiciously, the speedometer needle fluctuates at lower speeds.

Yes, speedometer issues were present along with the ABS light and traction problems. A faulty sensor or wiring can cause all sorts of electronic mayhem. I recommend getting a professional diagnostic to pinpoint the exact cause.

Thank you for your input. The diagnostic confirmed a defective ABS control unit. Replacement cost is estimated at 1000€. I will proceed with the repair.
