Skoda Kodiaq Blower Issue

Evening. My 2022 Skoda Kodiaq with a gasoline engine is giving me grief. The fresh air blower has stopped working completely. The mileage is sitting at 57112 km. The HVAC system is dead, no air circulation whatsoever. I've checked the fuses, and they're all fine. There's an error stored in the error memory, which points towards the blower motor being defective. Before I go ahead and replace the blower motor, has anyone else experienced this issue? It seems the repair cost will be around 365€.

I had a similar issue with my Skoda Octavia, and it turned out to be a faulty blower motor resistor. Have you checked that first? It could be a cheaper fix than replacing the whole motor. Although, since you have an error code, it might well be the motor itself. Did the error code specify the blower motor?

Thanks for the quick response. I haven't checked the resistor. Where is it located, and how would I test it? The error code just said 'fresh air blower - malfunction'. It didn't specify the motor or resistor.

Okay, with that error code, it's probably the motor then. The resistor issue usually doesn't throw a specific code like that. The resistor is usually near the blower motor, but testing it can be tricky without the right tools. Given the cost of a new motor anyway, and the error code, I'd say get it checked at a workshop. They can confirm it and replace it properly. Better than chasing ghosts in the climate control system.

Thanks for the insight. Took it to the workshop as suggested and you were spot on, blower motor was the culprit. 365€ later and I have air flow again.
