Skoda Kodiaq Hands Free Microphone Fault

I'm getting increasingly frustrated. My 2020 Skoda Kodiaq, diesel engine, with 165320 km on the clock, has developed a fault with the hands-free microphone. Telephony is no longer possible! An error is stored in the error memory. From what I gather, the infotainment system is likely defective. Has anyone else experienced this?

I had a similar issue with my Kodiaq's audio system. Is it also impacting your speech recognition? I remember having a hard time with Bluetooth connectivity and the ambient noise while making calls was terrible. Have you checked the microphone itself for any physical damage?

The speech recognition is indeed affected, and Bluetooth is also cutting out frequently. I did check the microphone, but it looks fine. Was your issue also resolved by replacing the infotainment system?

Yes, replacing the infotainment system was the only thing that fixed it for me. It seems to be a common problem. I would suggest taking it to a workshop to confirm the diagnosis before spending money on a new unit. They can run more specific tests on the audio system.

Thank you for the advice. It was indeed the infotainment system. Had to replace it. Cost a hefty 815€, but at least the hands-free is working again. Speech recognition and Bluetooth are also back online.
