Skoda Kodiaq Oil Pressure Warning

I am writing to report an issue with my 2022 Skoda Kodiaq, gasoline engine. The oil pressure warning lamp illuminates, accompanied by loud mechanical noises. Could a defect in the oil pump result in such symptoms? The engine bearings are also a concern.

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my Skoda Octavia. Have you checked the oil pressure sensor? Is your engine oil at the correct oil viscosity?

The oil pressure sensor seems fine, and I recently changed the engine oil, using the correct grade. Could it still be the oil pump, even with relatively new oil?

Given the noise and the warning light, and confirming that the oil pressure sensor is functional, it does sound like the oil pump. Could be worn gears inside. Is it worth risking further damage by driving it? I would get it checked professionally to be sure.

Appreciate the insight. Dropped it at the workshop, and you called it – oil pump failure. Quote came in at 755€, so getting it sorted. Thanks again.
