Skoda Kodiaq problems with the navigation system screen
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Skoda Kodiaq is experiencing issues with its navigation system screen, which remains completely unresponsive. A similar problem in a Skoda Karoq was resolved by addressing defective cable connections between the control unit and the display. Suggested solutions include checking the cable connections and fuses for any loose or corroded parts, as these might be causing the screen failure. If these checks do not resolve the issue, a visit to the workshop for professional inspection and repair is recommended.

Hey, thanks for your tip! My screen no longer shows any reaction at all, remains completely black. I haven't had the cable connections checked yet, but I'll get to work on that. My Kodiaq currently has 216543 km on the clock and was last serviced about two months ago - everything was still working. I hope it's just a bad connection in my case. LG

Hey, sounds to me like it could actually be due to the cable connections. I had a similar problem with my Skoda Karoq 2019 about a year ago. The screen also stayed completely black and there was no sign of life from the sat nav. I first checked all the fuses myself - but everything was fine. Then I went to the garage. They checked the cable connections and found that some of them were loose or corroded. After fixing them, the sat nav worked again without any problems. As a temporary solution, you can try checking the main fuse box and possibly unplugging the fuse from the navigation system and plugging it back in. Sometimes this helps if it's just a small loose connection. Hope it's that easy to fix for you too. Let us know if you find out anything! LG

Hey, thanks for the additional tip! I'll check the fuses myself first and see if there's anything loose. If I don't find anything, I'll probably go straight to the workshop. Would be great if it really is just the cable connections and I can get the problem fixed quickly. I'll keep you posted as soon as I know more. LG

Hey, I had a similar problem with my Skoda Karoq 2019. I'm not a professional, but I've already had a few experiences with cars. In my case, it was the cable connection between the control unit and the display that was defective (poor connection). I had it fixed in the workshop and it cost me 165 euros. My workshop checked the connections and secured them again. After that, everything worked perfectly again. Have you ever had the cable connections checked? This could also be the problem for you. What symptoms does your sat nav show exactly and have you tried anything to fix it? LG
