Skoda Kodiaq Seat Heating Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Skoda Kodiaq owner reported a problem with the seat heating not functioning, even on the highest setting, and an OBD scan revealed an error related to the seat heating. The issue was suspected to be with the seat heating mat, a common problem. It was suggested to check the wiring harness and have a workshop confirm the diagnosis. Ultimately, the problem was confirmed to be a defective seat heating mat, along with an error in the thermal sensor, which was resolved at a repair shop.

Wiring harness, you say? Where exactly should I be looking? And how would I know if it's the seat cushion versus something else?

Yes, the error memory pointed to the seat heating mat on mine as well. While the wiring harness is a possibility, a defective seat heating mat is far more common. Considering you have an error code and the seat isn't heating at all, it's likely the mat. I would recommend having a workshop confirm the diagnosis. Replacing the seat heating mat involves removing the seat cushion, which can be tricky.

Took it to the shop as suggested. It was indeed the seat heating mat, just like you said. They also found an error with the thermal sensor. Cost me around 390€ to get it fixed. Thanks a bunch for your help!

I had similar seat heating issues in my Kodiaq. Does the error memory specifically point to the seat cushion? Have you checked the wiring harness under the seat?
