Skoda Octavia Anti Theft Alarm Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Skoda Octavia owner is facing a malfunctioning anti-theft alarm system, with an error stored in the error memory and the alarm not functioning. The issue might be related to the alarm control module, possibly triggered by humid weather. A similar case was resolved by recoding the alarm system at a workshop, which fixed the problem by addressing the coding related to the optical locking system. The suggested solution is to have the alarm system professionally recoded, which proved effective and relatively inexpensive.

Humid weather... that's an interesting point! I did notice it happening a few times after it rained heavily. So, what did you do to fix it? Did you find any error messages in the error memory like I did?

Yep, error messages galore! I eventually took it to a workshop, and they sorted it out. From what I remember, the issue was that the alarm system was coded in a weird way. I'd advise you to do the same. It's probably something simple, but it's better to be safe than sorry, right?

I wanted to say thank you! I took your advice and went to the workshop. It turns out the alarm system was coded to activate the optical locking – the indicators. They recoded it, and it’s sorted. Cost me 45€, a small price to pay for peace of mind!

Strange, isn't it? I had a similar issue with my Octavia. The car alarm would go off randomly, especially at night. Did you notice any pattern, like after washing the car or in humid weather? I'm wondering if it's a widespread thing.
