Thanks for the quick response. Where is the pedal switch located exactly? And which fuse should I check in the fuse box? Is there a specific fuse for cruise control?

The pedal switch is near the pedals, make sure the connection is secure. As for the fuse box, check the manual for the cruise control or engine management fuse. In my case, it was a defective plug connection. I'd still recommend a workshop diagnosis.

The workshop traced it to a faulty cable and plug connection, just as you thought. They repaired it, and the cruise control is now functional. The repair set me back 95€, but it's sorted. Thanks for the guidance!

I had a similar problem with my Octavia. I'd suggest checking the pedal switch and the connections around the steering wheel. A failing speed sensor can also cause cruise control issues. Have you checked the fuse box?
