The cooling fan, eh? Interesting! How did you figure that out? Was it obvious, like the fan wasn't spinning, or was it more subtle? And did you notice any other weirdness, like the engine running hotter than usual? I've been scratching my head trying to figure this out. I had a look at the coolant reservoir and radiator cap, but they look fine. I'm starting to suspect the water pump, maybe it's leaking but I am not sure.

Yeah, it wasn't super obvious at first. The fan was working intermittently, and that's what triggered the error code. Honestly, I'm not mechanically inclined, so I took it straight to a workshop. They ran some diagnostics and pinpointed the faulty connection. If you're not seeing any leaks, I'd lean towards an electrical issue too. Save yourself the headache and get it checked out properly.

Appreciate your help! Turns out, you were spot on about the electricals. Took it to a local place, and they found a dodgy plug connection on the cooling fan. 95€ later, and the Octavia's purring like a kitten again. No more check engine light, and the coolant level is staying put. Cheers!

Whoa, that sounds eerily familiar! I had a similar issue with my Octavia. Mine did the exact same thing: check engine light, coolant disappearing. I was topping it up every other week! Have you checked the cooling fan? That was the culprit for me.
