Skoda Octavia Diesel Engine Performance Problems
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Skoda Octavia diesel was experiencing poor engine performance and reduced power, with diagnostics indicating a faulty engine control unit (ECU). A potential cause identified was a bad main relay affecting the ECU. After confirming this issue at a workshop, replacing the main relay resolved the problem, restoring the engine's performance.

Thanks for getting back to me so fast. When you say system reset, what did you actually do? Just unhook the battery, or did you do something with the computer?

I unhooked the battery for maybe half an hour hoping it would work, but the problem came back after driving a short distance. It might help for a little bit, but if the main relay is actually bad, you probably need to fix or replace the ECU. I'd get it checked out at a workshop.

You were spot on. The workshop confirmed it was the main relay messing with the ECU. They swapped it out, cleared the error codes, and the engine is running like new. The whole thing cost me 120€, so thanks for the help.

That sounds rough. I had ECU trouble with my old Renault Megane once. Reduced engine power is never a good sign. Have you tried just resetting the system to see if that clears the error for a bit?
