Skoda Octavia Diesel Engine Stalling Problem

I'm getting stressed out with a problem on my 2005 Skoda Octavia diesel. The check engine light is on, and the engine is stalling at idle. Sometimes, it feels like it has reduced engine power. I suspect it's the rail pressure sensor signal that's faulty, which is impacting fuel injection. Has anyone experienced this before?

Sounds similar to what happened with my Skoda Octavia too. The engine light and stalling issues are a pain. Did the check engine light give you any specific error codes relating to fuel injection?

Interesting, so your Octavia had the same symptoms. Was it the pressure sensor for sure? Did you notice any other issues besides the check engine light and engine stalling?

Yep, it was the pressure sensor. Think of it like a faulty thermostat in your house, messing with the whole system. From what you describe, it's highly likely that's your problem too. I suggest you take it to a workshop to be 100% sure, but it seems to be that. Good luck.

You were spot on. I got the rail pressure sensor replaced. The check engine light is gone, and the engine runs smoothly again. Total cost was around 240€, which is what I expected. Thanks for the help.
