Skoda Octavia Hybrid Air Conditioning Problem

Thanks for the quick reply! The temperature gauge seems normal, no weird fluctuations that I've noticed. I haven't spotted any coolant leak either, but I'll double-check. Regarding the error memory, I saw a code related to the temperature sensor heat exchanger. You mentioned the air conditioning control unit – how would that cause this?

Okay, with a specific error code pointing to the temperature sensor, it's very likely that's the culprit. A faulty sensor can prevent the air conditioning from activating as a safety measure. While a defective air conditioning control unit could theoretically cause similar symptoms, the sensor error makes that less likely. I'd suggest getting the sensor replaced and doing a sensor calibration afterwards. If that doesn't fix it, further diagnostics might be needed, but I am pretty sure that this will fix your problems. A workshop visit is probably unavoidable.

Just wanted to let you know, took it to the shop, and you were right! The temperature sensor on the heat exchanger was indeed faulty. They replaced it, did some sensor calibration, and now the air conditioning is working again. The engine cooling seems fine now, no coolant leak detected. It was a bit pricey at 980€, but at least it's fixed. Thanks a lot for your help!

Sounds like a defective temperature sensor on the heat exchanger. Does the temperature gauge behave erratically? Any signs of a coolant leak? It could also be related to the air conditioning control unit. Have you checked the error memory for specific codes?
