Skoda Octavia Hybrid Alarm System Problem

I've got a persistent issue with my 2021 Skoda Octavia hybrid. The alarm system isn't functioning, and the error memory shows a siren communication fault. Suspect it's a cable or plug connection issue. Workshop quoted around 95€ for repair. Anyone else run into this?

I encountered a similar predicament with my 2019 Volvo XC60. The symptoms you described were indicative of a security breach, specifically a faulty siren circuit. Fault detection routines identified the alarm system as non-operational. Have you checked the relevant fuse associated with the alarm disarm system? A transient voltage spike could have compromised the fuse integrity. A thorough diagnostic assessment using an OBD-II scanner may yield further insights.

Thanks for the input. Regarding the fuse, I've visually inspected it and it seems intact. However, I haven't performed a continuity test. When you say 'faulty siren circuit,' was it a specific component failure, or more of a wiring issue?

In my case, it ultimately manifested as a wiring issue. The harness connecting the siren to the central control module had sustained damage, inducing an open circuit condition. Given the potential complexity of modern vehicle electronics, a professional diagnostic evaluation is prudent. Attempting self-repair without adequate expertise could potentially exacerbate the problem. I strongly recommend consulting with a certified technician to mitigate further complications.

Appreciate you sharing your experience. Dropped the car off this morning; they've confirmed a wiring issue to the siren. Estimate aligns with the initial quote. Should have it back tomorrow.
