Skoda Octavia Solar Sensor Fault

Thanks for the quick reply. I did check the error memory with VCDS and it points directly to the sunlight sensor. I haven't checked the sensor calibration specifically, nor have I visually inspected the HVAC sensor yet. Where exactly is the sunlight sensor located, and is checking the calibration a straightforward process?

Yes, the error definitely points to the sunlight sensor. While cleaning the contacts might help temporarily, it's best to have the workshop properly diagnose the cable and plug. I ended up replacing the connector entirely some time ago to resolve the issue permanently. For 95€, it's probably not worth the hassle of trying to fix it yourself, unless you are very comfortable with car electrics.

The workshop confirmed a faulty connection, just as suspected. They cleaned the contacts and re-seated the plug. The error is gone, and the heating seems to be working much better now. Total cost was exactly 95€, so thanks for the input.

I had a similar experience with my Octavia, although it was a few years back. The symptoms sound very familiar. Did you check the sensor calibration in the diagnostic tool? Also, have you inspected the HVAC sensor itself for any visible damage or corrosion?
