Skoda Praktik ABS Traction and Odometer Issues

That sounds like a potential issue with the ABS system. When the ABS light is on, it usually indicates a malfunction. Since you're also experiencing traction problems and a complete ABS failure, it does point towards a faulty ABS control unit or possibly a sensor. Have you checked the ABS sensors on each wheel for any visible damage or loose connections?

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't checked the sensors myself, to be honest. Where exactly are they located, and what should I be looking for? Also, could a faulty sensor really cause the odometer to malfunction too?

Okay, the ABS sensors are located near each wheel hub. You'd be looking for any obvious damage to the sensor itself or the wiring. However, given the odometer issue, it does seem more likely that the problem lies with the ABS control unit, as it processes speed signals for various systems. A faulty sensor is possible, but less likely to affect the odometer. Considering the symptoms and the potential complexity, it's probably best to have a workshop diagnose the problem properly. Replacing the ABS control unit can be expensive.

Thanks a lot for your help and advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on. It was the ABS control unit. Cost me around 1000€ to get it sorted, but at least it's fixed. Really appreciate you pointing me in the right direction.
