Skoda Praktik central locking issue

Anyone seen this before? My 2009 Skoda Praktik with a gasoline engine is acting up. It has 143930 km on the clock. There's an error in the memory, unlocking and locking is failing, and sometimes it won't start without the key in the ignition. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection at the bumper antenna.

The symptoms you describe sound very similar to an issue I encountered with my own Praktik. It affected the central locking and starting the engine. Have you checked the vehicle antenna and its connections for corrosion or damage? The radio signal might also be weak.

Interesting. When you say 'vehicle antenna', are you referring to the one integrated into the bumper, or the regular car antenna for the radio?

Affirmative. The antenna integrated within the bumper houses the receiver for the central locking system. Given the error memory and symptoms, a defective cable or plug connection at the antenna mount is a plausible diagnosis. However, I would advise a thorough diagnostic check at a qualified workshop to confirm the issue before undertaking any repairs.

Thanks for the insight! Turns out it was a broken wire at the antenna mount as suspected. 95€ later and all is working again.
