Skoda Praktik Cold Start Problem

Alright, I'm pulling my hair out here. My 2010 Skoda Praktik, gasoline engine, is being a pain. Starts poorly when cold, and runs rough until it warms up. Seems like a faulty cold start injector, any thoughts? I'm guessing it's a fuel system thing, could be the injection valve itself. Any experiences with similar cold start problems?

I might be able to shed some light on this. I had similar cold start problems with my Skoda Praktik – though I never measured the mileage. The engine would run rough for the first few minutes, especially in colder weather. Have you tried any injector cleaning solutions to address possible fuel delivery issues before exploring more invasive interventions? Is the performance ok after the cold start phase?

Injector cleaning, you say? Interesting. Did it completely solve the issue for you, or did you eventually have to replace the injector?

In my case, the injector cleaning only provided a temporary improvement. Eventually, I needed to replace the injector to completely resolve the cold start problems. Given the symptoms and the age of your vehicle, a defective injector is a highly probable cause. I would recommend having a workshop confirm the diagnosis and proceed with a replacement if necessary. I wish you the best!

Thanks for the insight! I took it to a shop, and you were spot on. Faulty cold start injector it was. Cost me 515€ to get it sorted. Runs like a dream now!
