Skoda Praktik Diesel Solar Sensor Problem

My 2007 Skoda Praktik with a diesel engine has a problem with the solar sensor. An error is stored, and the heating output is too low. Fault detection points to a defective cable or plug connection. Has this happened to anyone else?

I had a similar problem with my old Renault Megane. Same symptoms, error code pointing to the sunlight sensor. Did you already check the wiring and the plug? They are often exposed. Is the plug corroded maybe?

Wiring seems ok at first glance, but I haven't checked the plug for corrosion yet. Where exactly is the solar sensor located? Maybe I can get a better look then.

Yes, in my case, corrosion was the culprit. The sensor is usually located on top of the dashboard, near the windshield. But even if you find the issue, do you have the equipment to properly diagnose and clear the error memory? Maybe it is better to go to the workshop.

Thanks for the input. The workshop replaced the sensor and cable. Cost me 95€. Now the heater is working as expected.
