Thanks for the quick reply! Good to know I'm not alone in this headlight misery. I did check the headlight switch, and it seems fine. No recent front-end work either. So, if you had the same symptoms, was it definitely the servomotor in your case? And if so, was the fix as expensive as I'm dreading?

Yep, servomotor was the issue. Sadly, it wasn't cheap. The labor isn't too bad, but the part itself is pricey. If you've already ruled out the headlight switch, then I'd bet on the servomotor. Just get it to the workshop and have it checked out. They can confirm with diagnostics. Good luck!

Huge thanks for sharing your experience! I took your advice and went straight to the workshop. Turns out you nailed it – the defective servomotor in the headlight was indeed the culprit. I had to replace the whole unit, costing me a painful 1040€. Ouch! But at least the headlight is fixed, and the lighting is working properly again. No more scary nights with the low beam shining all over the place. I appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar headlight malfunction on my Praktik. Same symptoms – error light, auto-leveling gone haywire, beams pointing to the sky or ground. Have you checked the headlight switch itself? Sometimes a faulty switch can cause issues with the adaptive headlights system. If not, it's likely the servomotor as you suspect. Has the car had any front-end work recently?
