Skoda Praktik Overheating Issue

My 2008 Skoda Praktik with a diesel engine is giving me grief. Mileage is 135775 km. The radiator fan seems defective; the engine is overheating, and the check engine light is illuminated. I suspect a faulty speed sensor, but I'm open to suggestions. Has anyone experienced similar radiator fan problems? Any advice on troubleshooting this car overheating issue?

Sounds familiar. I had similar car overheating issues with my Skoda Praktik. Check engine light was on too. Have you checked the thermal switch? It might be the culprit.

Did you have similar fan noise before the car overheating became noticeable? And what exactly was the fix that solved your cooling system issue?

No fan noise that I recall. The symptoms were identical though; car overheating and the check engine light. I'd recommend a workshop to diagnose it properly. It could save you time and money in the long run.

Thanks for the confirmation. I took it to a local workshop, and it turned out to be a defective speed sensor. It's sorted now, with a bill of 250€. Glad it's resolved. The cooling system is working perfectly now.
