Skoda Praktik Seat Heater Problem

My 2007 Skoda Praktik with a gasoline engine is giving me grief. The seat heating on the driver's side isn't working. It's stone cold, and there's an error stored in the error memory. I'm betting it's a defective seat heating mat, but wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this annoyance.

I had a similar issue with my Praktik's seat heater not getting warm. Did you check the thermal sensor under the seat cushion? Sometimes that's the culprit. Does the error code point specifically to the heating mat?

Interesting. Where exactly is this thermal sensor located? The error memory does mention something about a short circuit in the seat heater circuit, so I assumed the mat was gone.

Yes, the error code sounds like the mat itself. The thermal sensor is buried in the seat cushion, a real pain to get to. If the error points to the heating circuit, I'd say the mat is the likely offender. I ended up just taking mine to a shop. Best to let them deal with it, in my opinion.

I went to my automotive repair shop. They confirmed the defective seat heating mat and replaced it. The seat warmer is working perfectly again. Bill came to 390€, ouch! Thanks for the help!
