Thanks for the quick reply! I'm not really a car guy, so some of that went over my head. When you say 'wiring harness,' where exactly am I looking? And what does the 'starter solenoid' even look like? Is that near the battery?

The wiring harness is a bundle of wires, usually wrapped in tape or a protective sleeve. Follow the wires from the battery and starter. The starter solenoid is a small cylindrical device attached to the starter motor. Given your description and the error code, I'd still suspect a defective cable or plug connection. If you're not comfortable working on it yourself, it might be best to take it to a workshop. The estimated repair cost of 95€ sounds about right for this kind of fix.

You were spot on! Turns out it was a corroded connector in the wiring harness, just like you said. 95€ later at the garage and my Praktik is purring like a kitten again. Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it!

Terminal 15 interruption on a Skoda Praktik diesel, eh? Sounds like a classic voltage drop issue. Have you checked the battery terminal connections for corrosion or looseness? Also, inspect the wiring harness leading to the starter solenoid and the relay switch. A defective cable or plug connection can definitely cause this. Any recent work done on the car?
