Skoda Rapid diesel engine rough running

My 2003 Skoda Rapid with a diesel engine is giving me some grief. It's done 148565 km. The engine is running really rough, and the check engine light is on. I got the error codes read, and it's saying something about "reset quantity drift compensation". The mechanic reckons it's likely a dodgy injector. Anyone else had this?

Rough running and a check engine light, that doesn't sound good. I had something similar with my Rapid. Have you checked the car sensors? It could be related to drift compensation adjustment. It's worth looking into before you start thinking about replacing parts.

Car sensors, drift compensation adjustment... Sorry, I'm not really clued up on this stuff. What exactly should I be looking for? And is this something I can fix myself, or does it need special tools?

Yeah, mine was the injectors too. The error memory stored the same thing. I wouldn't mess with it yourself unless you really know what you're doing. You could try some performance tuning to see if that works, but it's probably best to get it checked out by a professional.

The garage confirmed a faulty injector. Replacing it and doing a system reset cost 515€, but the car runs smoothly again. Thanks for the help
