Skoda Rapid Engine Misfiring

Interesting about the fuel pump! The check engine light is solid, not flashing. I haven't checked the fuel trims yet, I will try that. Where exactly would I see if the fuel pump is failing with an OBD2 scanner? What parameters should I look into?

Okay, solid check engine light is less urgent than a flashing one, but still not good. Honestly, pinpointing a failing fuel pump with an OBD2 scanner alone can be tricky. Focus on fuel trims – both short-term and long-term. High positive numbers (+10% or more) suggest the engine is trying to compensate for a lean condition (not enough fuel). Also, monitor fuel pressure if your scanner can display it. However, given that it's only misfiring and your mechanic mentioned the injection valve, it's more than likely that you have a faulty fuel injector. You should get the injectors tested. You would need to take it to a workshop.

Thanks for the help! Turns out it WAS the fuel injector on cylinder 3. Replaced it, cost me 515€, and the car is running smooth again. Much appreciated!

Rough idle and engine misfiring on a car? Sounds nasty! Had similar issues with my old Alfa Romeo. Is the check engine light flashing, or just on? When mine acted up, especially under load, it turned out to be a dodgy fuel pump struggling to deliver enough juice to the injectors. Have you checked the fuel trims with an OBD2 scanner? That could give you a clue whether it's fuel-related. Could also be a clogged fuel filter, but I'd lean towards fuel starvation given the symptoms.
