Skoda Rapid tire pressure ABS and steering issues
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Skoda Rapid is experiencing issues with the tire pressure warning light, ABS light, and heavy steering, accompanied by vibrations. The core problem appears to be a rapid tire pressure loss, potentially due to a puncture or air leak. A faulty valve stem was identified as the cause, affecting the ABS sensors and steering. The solution involved replacing the defective valve and balancing the tire, resolving the issues.

Rapid pressure loss, I'd say so. The vibration and heavy steering, plus the ABS light, are really throwing me off. So, on your Peugeot, was it also just the tire? What exactly was causing the heavy steering?

Yep, on the Peugeot, the culprit was a slow leak from a faulty valve stem. The tire pressure dropping messed with the ABS sensors, which then threw the whole system into chaos, hence the lights and steering issues. If the pressure loss is quick, and you're getting those symptoms, it's almost certainly related. Get it checked out at a workshop asap. Driving like that isn't safe, and you could be doing more damage.

Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on. Turns out a valve in the tire was defective. New valve, tire balanced, and I'm 280€ lighter. Thanks a bunch for the help!

Whoa, that sounds eerily familiar! I had a similar thing happen with my old Peugeot. Tire pressure light came on, and suddenly the steering felt like I was wrestling an alligator. Check your tires closely for punctures and look for any signs of damage. Also, when was the last time you had your tires balanced? A bad balance can cause vibrations, especially at higher speeds. Is the pressure loss rapid, like a flat tire?
