Skoda Roomster Alarm System Issue

I'm at my wit's end. My 2012 Skoda Roomster, diesel engine, is having alarm system problems. The error memory shows an anti-theft system error, and the alarm seems non-functional. I've checked the fuses, but they're fine. Could it be the immobilizer?

That sounds familiar. I had a similar alarm system problem with my Roomster. The anti-theft would randomly go off, or sometimes not arm at all. Did you check the alarm sensor? Any recent power failures?

An alarm sensor? Where is it, and how do I check it? The battery did die a few weeks ago. Could that be related?

A dead battery can cause alarm system coding issues. My alarm sensor seemed fine, but the system glitched after a power failure. I'd recommend a workshop to check the coding. Sounds like your alarm system coded to activate optical locking. They should sort it quickly.

You were spot on. The workshop found the alarm system was coded to activate the indicators when locking, and that was the problem. They recoded it, and it's perfect now. It cost 45€. Thanks a lot for your help!
