Skoda Roomster electrical issue

I have encountered a rather perplexing issue with my 2014 Skoda Roomster, equipped with a diesel engine, that I hope someone can shed some light on. The vehicle has symptoms including an error stored in the error memory, a non-functional gear selection display in the speedometer, a cruise control that refuses to engage, and occasional starting difficulties. After some research, a faulty clutch pedal switch seems to be the culprit, possibly due to a defective cable or plug connection. Could this seemingly simple safety switch really be the cause of all these problems?

A faulty clutch pedal switch on a Skoda Roomster I find that hard to believe, but I am willing to help. Does the error memory specifically point to the clutch pedal switch? Have you checked the cable and plug connection of the component for any visible damage or corrosion? Is the gear selection display constantly not working, or is it intermittent?

Yes, the error memory points directly to the clutch pedal switch. I have visually inspected the cable and plug, but I am not an expert, and I did not see anything obvious. The gear selection display is constantly not working. Could it really be just this safety switch causing all these issues?

Okay, if the error memory specifically indicates the clutch pedal switch and the gear selection display is constantly failing, it's highly probable that the switch is indeed the problem. It acts as a safety switch for starting and interacts with both the cruise control and gear selector display systems. Considering the potential electrical fault, it's best to take it to a workshop for a proper diagnosis and replacement. It's a relatively inexpensive part, and resolving the issue will restore the functionality of the affected systems.

Thank you for the confirmation. I had the clutch pedal switch replaced at the workshop. The final bill was 95€. The electrical fault is now gone, and everything is working again. Cruise control, gear selector display, and the ignition problem are all resolved.
