Thanks so much for your reply! Really appreciate it. Yes, I did use a scan tool (borrowed it from a friend). It showed a bunch of different error codes related to the audio system, navigation, and some general communication errors, but nothing that really screamed "THIS IS THE PROBLEM". As for the conditions, I haven't really noticed a pattern, but it's possible it happens more when it's wet. What exactly does a BUS system cable connection do? And what should I do?

Okay, the fact that the scan tool showed multiple, seemingly unrelated errors across different systems (audio, navigation, general communication) really strengthens the suspicion of a BUS system issue. The BUS system is essentially the car's central nervous system, a network of cables that allows the various control units (ECUs) to communicate with each other. If there's a defective cable connection to a control unit on the BUS system, it can disrupt communication and cause all sorts of weird and wonderful errors, as you're experiencing. Given your description, and the fact that it might happen more when wet, I'd say a defective cable connection of the control unit (connection to the BUS system) is a very likely culprit. This sort of thing can be tricky to diagnose without the right equipment. I would recommend that you take your Roomster to a workshop with experience in engine diagnostics. The repair cost should be in the ballpark of 155€.

Wow, thanks a million for your help! I took it to the local garage, and you were spot on. They checked the BUS system cable connection to the control unit, found a defect, repaired it, and cleared the error memory. Cost me 155€, just like you said. Everything's working perfectly now – audio, navigation, the whole shebang! I really thought I was looking at some crazy expensive fix, so I'm super relieved. Cheers!

Sounds like a frustrating situation! Sporadic errors can be a nightmare to track down. The symptoms you describe – system failure, audio/navigation issues, unresponsive control units, and those error codes logged – do point towards a communication problem within the car's BUS network. Have you, by any chance, already tried using a scan tool to retrieve the specific error codes stored in the system? Knowing the exact codes could help narrow down the source of the problem. Also, have you noticed if these errors occur more often under certain conditions, like when it's wet or after driving over a bumpy road? That could give us a clue about a possible loose connection.
