Yes, the error memory was read, and it pointed to a defective transmission control unit. The garage suspects it's causing the gearbox to slip and shift uncleanly. Did you also experience grinding noises when shifting gears with your Roomster?

Affirmative, the symptoms you are experiencing are indeed similar to what I encountered. The grinding noise was particularly noticeable. Given the error code and the symptoms, it seems highly probable that the transmission control unit is indeed the culprit. Considering the complexity of the automatic gearbox and the car computer integration, I would advise consulting a workshop specializing in transmission repair for a definitive diagnosis and repair. This will reduce the risk of further damaging your Skoda's system.

Thank you for the confirmation. I took the Roomster to a workshop, and it was indeed the automotive ECU needing replacement. A costly transmission repair, but at least the automatic gearbox is now shifting smoothly again.

I am sorry to hear about the issues you are experiencing with your Skoda Roomster. The symptoms you describe are concerning. I own a similar Skoda Roomster and experienced comparable issues with the automatic gearbox. Has the error memory been read out? What error codes are stored? It could be the transmission control unit, however, let us clarify some details before we jump to conclusions.
