Skoda Roomster Parking Aid Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Skoda Roomster experienced a parking aid fault, rendering the parking assistant non-functional, with an error stored in the error memory. The initial suspicion was faulty wiring or a defective plug connection. After consulting with another owner who suggested checking the radar sensors and connections, it was confirmed by a workshop that the issue was indeed due to faulty wiring, specifically a damaged connector, which was replaced to restore functionality.

Thanks for the quick response. I haven't checked the radar sensors myself. Where exactly are they located? And how do I access the error codes from the control module, is that something I can do myself?

The sensors are usually in the bumper. Accessing the error codes might require specific tools, or even just a generic OBD2 reader, but no guarantees. I would suggest a workshop check it out. Could be a damaged cable somewhere, and that's hard to find. I'm not sure if it's the same thing in your case, but I took mine to the shop.

Thanks. It was faulty wiring as suspected. The workshop replaced a damaged connector, the total cost was 95€. Obstacle detection is working again.

I had a similar problem with my Roomster's parking aid. It turned out to be a faulty proximity sensor. Did you check the radar sensors and their connections? Is the control module reporting any specific error codes?
