Skoda Roomster Power Steering Issue

I'm having some trouble with the power steering on my 2015 Skoda Roomster with a diesel engine. The steering wheel is vibrating, the handling feels spongy, and sometimes it's like the power steering just quits. I scanned for errors, and there's definitely something stored in the memory. I've read it could be a cable or plug connection. Could a faulty pressure hose cause this, or maybe something with the electric steering? Any thoughts before I start messing with the steering column?

Hey, I have a Skoda Roomster as well, though I'm not sure about the year. I had a similar problem a while back. The steering felt really weird, almost like it was fighting me. Did you check the power steering fluid level? Is the steering rack making any noise?

Thanks for the quick reply! The fluid level seems fine. I haven't noticed any unusual noises from the steering rack itself, but honestly, I'm not really sure what to listen for. Where exactly should I be looking for the power steering fluid reservoir, and could a simple top-up really fix something like this?

Yeah, sounds very similar to what I experienced. Topping up the fluid didn't do anything for me either. In the end, it turned out to be a dodgy connection somewhere in the steering system. Honestly, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. They can check the steering system properly.

Took it to the workshop and you were spot on! It was a defective cable connection in the steering system. They replaced it for 95€, and the power steering is working perfectly again. Thanks a lot for your help!
