Skoda Roomster Stalling at Idle

My 2011 Skoda Roomster, diesel engine, presents a recurring check engine light and stalls at idle. I suspect a fuel tank ventilation system leak, possibly a defective activated charcoal filter. This is causing emission control system failure.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Roomster: check engine light, occasional stalling at idle. It was related to the EVAP system. Have you checked the pressure sensor?

Pressure sensor? Could you elaborate on the specific symptoms you experienced with your EVAP system? Any details on how you diagnosed the issue?

Yes, the stalling was intermittent, mostly when the engine was warm. The error codes pointed to the EVAP system. After some research it seemed like the activated charcoal filter was the most likely culprit. Honestly, I just took it to a workshop. It's a bit fiddly to get to without the right tools.

The activated charcoal filter was defective, causing a fuel tank ventilation system failure. Replacement cost 275€, and fuel efficiency is back.
