Skoda Roomster Starting Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Skoda Roomster diesel with 59,100 km was experiencing starting problems, where the engine either wouldn't start or would start briefly before dying. The error memory indicated an immobilizer issue, likely due to incorrect key programming. The problem was resolved by reprogramming the key, which cost 45€, and the car is now functioning properly.

How did you resolve the issue with your Roomster? Did it also point to an incorrect key signal? Was an immobilizer bypass necessary, or did you address the ignition control?

My issue showed the same symptoms. I didn't attempt an immobilizer bypass myself. I took it to a workshop. They confirmed it was indeed a key issue and sorted out the ignition control programming.

The problem is solved. The key needed reprogramming. It cost 45€ and the car is now running smoothly. Thanks for the advice.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my Roomster. The security light was on, and the engine would cut out seconds after starting. Did you check the car immobilizer?
