Skoda Roomster Turn Signal Problem

I'm having a frustrating issue with my 2014 Skoda Roomster gasoline engine. The turn signal on the driver's side is acting up. I'm getting an error message on the speedometer and a stored error in the memory related to the indicator light. The whole lighting system seems to be affected. My local mechanic thinks it's a defective cable or plug connection. Before I potentially face a 95€ repair bill, I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced something similar with their turn indicator or had a broken lens that caused this. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Sounds like a classic case of electrical gremlins! Have you checked the bulb itself? Sometimes a seemingly good bulb can still be faulty. Also, give the bulb holder a good wiggle – could be a loose connection there. Does it affect both turn signals, or just one side?

Thanks for the quick reply! I checked the bulb; it looks fine, and I even tried a bulb replacement, but no luck. It's just the one turn signal on the driver's side. When you say 'bulb holder a good wiggle', do you mean literally just jiggling it around to see if it makes a difference?

Ah, just the one side, and you've tried a bulb replacement. Yeah, by 'wiggle' I mean give it a gentle nudge and see if it flickers or comes on. Since it's not the bulb, and the mechanic suspects a bad connection, it does sound like a wiring issue. Think of it like a loose garden hose connection – sometimes a little movement fixes it temporarily. Honestly, with those symptoms, it's probably best to get it checked professionally before it causes more problems down the line.

Took it to the workshop. It was a corroded connector on the turn signal. They cleaned it and replaced the connector, and all is well now. The error message is gone, and the indicator light is working perfectly. Cost me 95€, which is what they estimated, so I'm happy. Thanks again for your help!
