Skoda Scala automatic transmission issue

I've got a 2019 Skoda Scala with a diesel engine, and I'm pulling my hair out. The automatic transmission seems to have gone haywire. The engine won't start, the check engine light is on, and the gearbox is slipping badly. VCDS scan shows some error related to the parking position. Sounds like a defective control unit according to what I've read. Has anyone else experienced something like this?

Hmm, that sounds suspiciously like what happened with my Scala. I've got the same automatic transmission. Does it struggle to find neutral sometimes? Any issues with the park brake engaging or disengaging properly? It could be a dodgy transmission sensor playing havoc with the whole system.

Neutral position, you say? Actually, yeah, I've noticed it being a bit rough shifting sometimes, especially when cold. And the park brake light flickered once or twice. Could that really be the transmission sensor, even with the check engine light?

Yep, sounds like the same issue. The check engine light came on for me as well. Honestly, I wouldn't mess with it too much yourself. These automatic transmissions are complicated. You're probably looking at a workshop visit. They'll be able to properly diagnose the sensor or the control unit itself.

Thanks for the input. Turns out the control unit was indeed faulty. Had it replaced and everything seems to be working fine now. Cost me around 1000€, as expected.
