So, you experienced the same overheating? Was your electric fan also not working properly? Did you check the electric fan first, or directly the fan clutch?

Yes, same overheating symptoms. The electric fan was the culprit in my case. I didn't personally check it; I took it straight to the workshop. Given the similarities, you might have the same issue. They said it was an easy fix, but I didn't want to mess around with the cooling system myself.

It was indeed a defective cable/plug connection as suspected. Repair cost me 95€. Thanks for the help!

I had a similar problem with my Skoda Scala, although I can't remember what year it was. Check the fan clutch too, might be related to your temperature control issue.
