Skoda Scala Diesel Fuel Filter Heater Error

My 2019 Skoda Scala diesel is giving me trouble. I'm getting a fuel filter heater error. Mileage is around 32693 km. Symptoms are reduced engine power, poor engine response, uneven idling, and higher fuel consumption. The error memory says defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone else seen this?

I had something similar with my Scala, took me a while to diagnose. Check the fuel line, especially near the fuel filter heater. Those diesel engines are sensitive, and a bad connection messes with the ECU. Does the rough idle happen mostly on cold starts?

Fuel line, noted. Was your issue also the fuel filter heater? The rough idle is worse on cold starts. Did you see a drop in fuel efficiency?

Yep, almost the same symptoms. The error code pointed to the fuel filter heater circuit. I cleaned the contacts myself, but no luck. I took it to a shop, and they fixed it fast. Unless you're good with electrics, get it checked. Better safe than sorry, especially with the fuel system and possible engine stalling.

It was indeed a faulty connection, like we thought. Cleaning the contacts fixed the error. Runs great now. Cost 95€, not bad. Thanks for the help!
