Thanks for the quick response! I haven't checked the resistance yet, honestly not sure how to do that safely. I also don't want to mess with the engine too much. Fuel efficiency seems normal to me, but I haven't really paid that close attention. What exactly did you do to solve the issue? Did you replace the glow plugs yourself or go to a workshop?

Okay, if you're not comfortable checking the resistance, I understand. And if you don't notice a drop in fuel efficiency, it might be just one plug that's gone bad. In my case, I ended up taking it to a trusted workshop. I'd advise the same for you, especially if you're not very familiar with diesel engines. It's likely they'll confirm the defective glow plug(s) and replace them. It's not a super complicated job, but it does require some specialized tools and knowledge to avoid damaging anything. Better safe than sorry!

Just got my Scala back from the workshop. You were right, it was the glow plugs. Cost me 440€, but now the preheating light is behaving and the error is gone. Thanks for the help!

Sounds very similar to an issue I had with my Scala. Same engine, if I recall correctly. The preheating light stayed on, and the car felt a little rough at idle, especially when cold. Have you noticed any change in fuel efficiency? It could be the glow plugs, as you suspect. They're essential for proper diesel engine combustion, especially in colder weather. Think of them like tiny space heaters inside each cylinder, helping ignite the fuel. If even one fails, it can throw things off. Did you check the resistance of the glow plugs themselves? That’s usually a good first step.
