Skoda Scala Key Battery Issue

I'm experiencing an issue with my 2020 Skoda Scala diesel. The car is showing a 'key battery low' warning, and the keyless access no longer works. There's an error stored in the error memory. Also, unlocking or locking doesn't always work properly. Could the key battery really be the cause of all this?

I had a similar problem with my Scala, though it was some time ago. Keyless stopped working, and I got a warning about the electronic key. Have you tried replacing the battery in the car key? It's usually a CR2032 type. The low voltage can cause such symptoms.

Thanks for the quick response. Replacing the battery sounds easy enough. Was it definitely the key battery for you? I'm just a bit unsure since there's an error stored in the error memory.

Yes, for me, it was definitely the key battery. The error code is probably just a consequence of the low voltage. While it fixed my issue, to be completely sure, I'd advise getting it checked at a workshop. They can confirm it's not something more serious.

I replaced the key battery, and that fixed the problem. The error message disappeared, and keyless entry is working again. The new battery was 37€. Thanks for the help.
