Skoda Scala Oil Level Sensor Fault

I am experiencing an intermittent fault with the oil level sensor on my 2023 Skoda Scala with a gasoline engine. Current mileage is 237349 km. The issue manifests as an error message and warning light in the speedometer, accompanied by the oil pressure warning lamp illuminating intermittently. Error memory stores a fault related to the oil level sensor signal. Based on preliminary diagnostics, the likely cause is a defective cable or plug connection. I seek insight from the forum's collective expertise regarding potential avenues for focused troubleshooting beyond what I've already outlined. The oil monitoring system seems to be the only system affected. Any thoughts?

Interesting. First thing I'd check is the wiring harness and connector to the oil level sensor itself. Has the car had any recent front-end work or undercarriage impacts? Any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) besides the oil level sensor fault?

Good point regarding potential physical damage. I did have some minor work done recently. Could you elaborate on how best to inspect the connector and wiring? I have access to a multimeter.

Given your response, that front-end work is a prime suspect. A visual inspection is key: Look for damaged wires - chafing, cuts, or pinched sections. Check the connector itself for bent or corroded pins. With a multimeter, you can check for continuity between the sensor connector and the ECU connector (refer to the wiring diagram). Ultimately, if you're not comfortable probing live circuits, a workshop is probably your best bet. It could be as simple as a loose or corroded connector.

As suspected, it was a defective connection on the oil level sensor. The garage identified corrosion on the connector pins. They cleaned the connector and replaced the terminals. Total cost including labor was 95€. Appreciate the input.
