Skoda Scala Transmission Problems

I'm at my wit's end with my 2019 Skoda Scala with a gasoline engine. It's got about 38457 km on the clock. The main issue seems to be a defective transmission control unit. Symptoms include the inability to shift with the paddle shifters, the gearbox slipping and shifting erratically, grinding noises during gear changes, and a really slow response from the paddles. It's even gone into emergency mode a couple of times, and the error memory confirms a transmission control module issue. Feels like the automotive ECU is having a complete meltdown. Thoughts? Repair cost is estimated around 1000€.

Whoa, sounds rough! I had something similar happen with my Skoda Octavia. Gearbox issues are the worst! Could be the car computer acting up, like a brain fart in your transmission control. I am no expert but that fixed my car!

Interesting. When you say 'car computer' did you mean the entire ECU, or just the transmission control module (TCM)? Was it throwing similar errors and exhibiting those specific gearbox issues, like the grinding and emergency mode?

Yeah, I meant the transmission control module, the control module itself. It was throwing similar errors and the shifting was all messed up, just like you described. I'd definitely get it checked out by someone who knows their stuff. Could save you a headache in the long run to have a workshop take a look!

Thanks for the insight! I took it to a certified shop, and you were spot on. The transmission control module was indeed faulty. They replaced it, cost me around 1000€, and now my Scala is shifting smoothly again. I appreciate the help!
