Skoda Scala Turn Signal Error
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Skoda Scala diesel is experiencing a turn signal error message on the speedometer, with the lighting affected. The local garage suspects a defective cable or plug connection as the cause. Suggestions include checking the bulb and bulb holder for issues like corrosion, but the problem persists even after replacing the bulb. Ultimately, a professional inspection confirms a defective connection, which is resolved by cleaning contacts and replacing a section of the cable.

Thanks for the quick reply! I did check the bulb, and it looks fine, no broken filament or anything. I also tried swapping it with a new bulb, but the error remains. Where exactly should I be looking for corrosion on the bulb holder? Is there a specific area that's more prone to it?

Right, if a new bulb didn't fix it, and you've visually inspected the bulb holder, it does point towards a wiring issue. Corrosion can build up anywhere in the connector, but especially look where the wires enter the plug. Given it's throwing an error code, it's probably best to get it checked professionally before you start messing with the electrics yourself. Could be a simple fix, but you don't want to make it worse.

Took it to the workshop and they confirmed it was a defective connection, just like you suspected. They cleaned the contacts and replaced a small section of the cable. Total cost was 98€, a bit more than initially expected, but at least the error is gone. Thanks a lot for your help!

Sounds like a dodgy connection to me. Have you checked the bulb itself? Sometimes a failing bulb throws up weird errors even if it looks okay. Also, inspect the bulb holder for corrosion. Is the indicator light completely dead or just flickering?
