Skoda Superb climate control issues

I'm officially pulling my hair out. My 2012 Skoda Superb with a gasoline engine is having major climate control issues. The control panel is basically dead. I've got an error stored in the error memory, the heating output is pathetic, and the air conditioning refuses to switch on. From what I've gathered, the likely culprit is a defective cable or plug connection. Anyone else run into this? Before I start tearing apart the dashboard, any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

I had a similar issue with my Superb, although I can't recall the exact error code. The symptoms you describe sound very familiar. Have you checked the power supply to the climate control panel itself? Also, have you tried wiggling the wiring harness behind the panel? Sometimes a loose connection can cause intermittent problems like this.

Thanks for the quick reply! When you say 'power supply to the climate control panel', are you referring to the main fuse box, or is there a separate fuse or relay specifically for the climate control? And when you mention the wiring harness, did you remove the control panel to access the wires, or were you able to reach them from underneath?

Yes, I am talking about a fuse allocated just to the climate control - check your manual. Regarding the wiring harness, I did remove the control panel to get a better look. It's a bit like trying to solve a Rubik's Cube blindfolded, but you should be able to gently pry it out with some plastic trim tools. Honestly, if you're not comfortable doing that, it might be worth taking it to a workshop. They can diagnose it properly and avoid you potentially causing more damage.

Took your advice and went to a workshop. Turns out it was indeed a dodgy connector in the wiring harness for the climate control! They cleaned it up, re-seated it, and all's good now. Total cost 95€. Thanks a bunch for the insight!
