Skoda Superb Diesel Charge Air Temperature Sensor Issue

Alright, I'm pulling my hair out here. My 2006 Skoda Superb diesel is throwing a charge air temperature sensor error. Check engine light's on, power's way down, and there's this awful whistling, almost like a loud hissing sound when I accelerate. The error memory confirms the temperature sensor issue. My initial thought is a defective cable or plug connection at the component, but wanted to get a second opinion before diving in too deep.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my old Peugeot. Check engine light, power loss, the works. Though mine was more of a hissing sound. Could be the airflow sensor acting up. Have you checked the sensor's wiring?

Interesting, so you think it's just the wiring to the airflow sensor then? Did you also have temperature fluctuation issues showing on the temperature gauge?

Yes, it definitely sounds like a faulty connection to the temperature sensor. I didn't experience temperature gauge issues, but I did have reduced power. Given the whistling, hissing and stored error, I'd recommend having a workshop take a look. Could save you a lot of time and potential headaches.

You were spot on! Took it in and the mechanic found a loose connection at the charge air temperature sensor. 95€ later and she's purring like a kitten again. Thanks a bunch for the help!
